Johnny Works with One Hammer

Johnny works with one hammer, one hammer, one hammer
Johnny works with one hammer, then he works with two.

(Continue singing and adding hammers until you get to five then sing...)

Johnny works with five hammers, then he goes to bed.

Ideas

Move different body parts for each hammer: one hammer- one fist pounding on knee, two hammers - two fists pounding, three hammers - two fists pounding and one foot stamping, four hammers - two fists pounding and two feet stamping, five hammers - two fists, two feet and one head nodding.

Each day sing about a different job tool, such as stapler, fire hose, mixer, etc.

Muffin Man

Do you know the Muffin Man?
The Muffin Man, the Muffin Man?
Do you know the Muffin Man
Who lives on Drury Lane?
Yes I know the Muffin Man
The Muffin Man, the Muffin Man
Yes I know the Muffin Man
Who lives on Drury Lane!

Ideas

Each day ask the children to give you another type of job to sing about. Such as Dentist, Doctor, Fisherman, etc.

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub
And who do you think they be?
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker
And all of them going to sea

Ideas

Sing the song throughout the week and change have the children think of different jobs each day to sing about.
